Social Media

*One idea I have is to start an Instagram account for my poetry or photography. I think this could be a fun idea, because these are two of my passions, and it is a good way to reach a higher platform.

*Another idea I have is to make a Twitter account to post original, short jokes/quotes. I think this would be fun, because I really enjoy making people laugh and since Twitter is a more text-based platform, it would be a good place for this kind of idea.

*One last idea I have would be to make a Snapchat to post short videos/skits. I really like writing little skits (whether they be funny, dramatic, etc.). I think this would be a fun, interesting idea and something I would really enjoy doing.

Homework Post

The two posts I decided to read were the Alan Bigelow Instagram posts and the Google Map by JR Carpenter. They were both very interesting. The Instagram posts were interesting, and were a very good way to get in touch with a younger audience (since most young adults/teens are on Instagram). It was also interesting, because it is not the typical kind of thing you would see on Instagram, so it could be intriguing for people looking for something new/interesting to delve into. The map by JR Carpenter was a very interesting way to tell a story, and I really liked it. It was very interactive and was done in such a way that would keep a reader interesting and wanting to learn more. An interactive medium is a fun, entertaining way to get people involved with a story, and will keep them clicking through to find out what happens in the end.

Twine Brainstorming

  1. A murder mystery idea. Someone has been murdered during a party, and there is a list of suspects (four or five, maybe?). You are the person investigating these people, trying to figured out who killed the victim. There are many twists and turns, and every time you think you think you know something, it gets turned on its head.
  2. A more fun, upbeat idea about living in a wonderland, and all the beautiful things this wonderland has to offer, and all the things you can discover. There is a beautiful garden to explore. A large market, with lots of vendors you can buy from, and maybe even charm. And there might even be a prince/princess to fall in love with. Can you become the ruler of Wonderland?
  3. You have decided to take control of your life. You have decided to quit your job and pursue your true passion. You’ve decided to adopt a dog. You’ve decided to go on a date, hoping to find true love. It is your life; you are now completely in control.

Hypertext

The hypertext I chose to pursue was Hunt for the Gay planet. I chose this one, because the name popped out at me and made me intrigued to learn more about it. I really liked this hypertext, because it was easy to follow and told an interesting story. There were several different paths to go down, and the hypertext made it very easy to explore all of them. The story was also interesting enough that even if I chose the right path, I still wanted to go back and see what happened if I chose the others. The story was very descriptive and it was very easy to picture this story in my head. It was vivid and interesting, and kept me hanging on until the very last choice when I found out what happened in the end. I also very much liked the ending, because I liked what all the choices culminated in. It was a very good story, and something fun to and interesting to do.

A Place in Space

There is not any changes I want to make to my text. However, I have decided that I want to stay with the image of the night sky. I want to add in a bunch of stars dotted across the sky (i.e. the stars mentioned in the poem). I have also decided to add in a small image of a doghouse and maybe the shadow of a person looking up at the sky. I have decided on this, because I think it adds to the vibe of feeling so small in a universe that is so big. I stuck with the sky idea because I feel as it’s the biggest idea that fits with my poem, and it feels right to me.
